Generative AI in ODL Assessment: Opportunities, Risks and a Policy Agenda for NUC

Abstract

Generative AI is already present in Nigerian ODL assessments. This article proposes a three-layer policy agenda—programme design, authentic tasks, and disclosure—for centres seeking NUC-compliant integrity without abandoning open-book, workplace-based assessment.
